Caring for Senior Pets
Because they age so much faster than we do, dogs and cats become “seniors” when they’re about seven years old. At this point, they usually start slowing down and become more susceptible to health problems. Older pets tend to be less active, so their diet often needs to be adjusted to prevent obesity and its associated problems. Your pet may also need food that’s specially formulated to meet the needs of older dogs/cats or help with problems like kidney disease.
We recommend bringing your senior pet in every six months for an exam. Doing so allows us to detect potential problems early and stay on top of your dog or cat’s evolving needs.
