Health Certificates

Contact us right away to begin the process.

Have the Necessary Documentation

Certificates of veterinary inspection, more commonly known as health certificates, are often required when traveling with pets.

Whether traveling internationally or within the United States, you’ll likely need to obtain one of these federal documents when traveling by air. Only USDA-certified veterinarians, such as those at Pinehurst Veterinary Hospital, are authorized to issue travel certificates. If you are planning a trip and plan to take your furry friend along for the adventure, we can help with health certificates for international and domestic travel for pets in Lacey, Olympia, Tumwater, and the surrounding areas.

Domestic Health Certificates

Most airlines require domestic health certificates for pets traveling by plane. Your pet will need to have a current Rabies vaccination and may need additional vaccinations depending on the airline and your destination. To obtain a domestic health certificate, you need to schedule an exam for your pet within 10 days of travel. After examining your pet and confirming their vaccination status, we will issue the certificate.

International Health Certificates

Traveling internationally with pets is a bit more complex. Every country has its own requirements for incoming pets, and it can take months to meet all the requirements. If you plan on traveling internationally with your furry friend, we encourage you to contact us as soon as you know your travel date, so there’s time to get everything in order before your departure.
